Project
Campaign, Branding
L&Q engaged us to re-brand a major multi-phase development after the original name was found to be in use elsewhere. With sales underperforming and a reduced budget, our task was to deliver a complete brand refresh – including naming, identity, website, signage, and marketing suite updates – quickly and cost-effectively.
Creative Approach
Strategic research revealed a growing scene of independent artisan businesses in the area, a strong draw for first-time buyers. We also uncovered a rich local history of 17th-century ropemaking, which inspired the new name: Ropemakers Yard – distinctive, memorable, and rooted in place.
To work within budget constraints, we focused on clean, typography-led logo concepts, narrowing to four strong options rather than the usual seven to nine. The brand needed to convey luxury whilst being economical to produce, so we balanced digital short-run printing with cost-effective materials, reserving spend for premium touches.
Our scope included:
- Strategic naming and brand identity development rooted in local history
- Typography-led logo design with four refined concepts
- Industrial-style brochure in matte black with foil detailing, embossing, and exposed binding
- Updated exterior signage and vinyl graphics
- Marketing suite refresh and branded collateral
- Development website
- Content creation spotlighting local independent businesses to reinforce the area’s creative appeal

Outcome
The rebrand repositioned the development with a strong sense of place and local narrative, delivering a premium look on a constrained budget and reversing underperforming sales momentum.
